Flanders, Belgium is “state of the art” – steeped in heritage but at the same time very much alive, making it the ideal destination for an enriched cultural break. During 2018-2020, VISITFLANDERS will be promoting the Flemish Masters programme.
This three-year focus celebrates not only the legacy of the region’s iconic artists of the 15-17th century; Rubens, van Eyck and Bruegel, but shines a light on todays’ Flemish Masters; creative young chefs, chocolatiers, craft beer makers, and fashion designers. The programme will showcase new high-quality visitor attractions and an amazing events programme encompassing both old masters, contemporary artists, dance, theatre and even comic art.
It is only in Flanders that visitors can truly walk in the footsteps of Rubens, enjoy the vistas that Bruegel painted in his landscapes and see paintings like the Ghent Altarpiece in situ at St Bavo’s Cathedral, where it was originally painted for.
To find out more about the programme you can join VISITFLANDERS at stand EU1550 during World Travel Market 2017 where we will welcome guests in true Flemish style with one of our delicious Belgian beers.
