The sun brings out the best of London’s heart and soul. Paul Oswell
falls back in love with the capital
When summer comes to London the
locals welcome it with both hands and
do their best to soak up as many rays
as possible.
Barbecues are lit, ice creams are
bought and beer gardens fi ll up for
those great long, sunny evenings for
which residents wait all year. The
capital’s parks become alive with
groups of friends or families picnicking,
playing frisbee or messing around on
boating lakes, while every piece of
space is fi lled with all manner of events
to make the most of the outdoors.
Whether you just want to sit back in
a deck chair and listen to some live
jazz, catch the next up-and-coming
band at one of the city’s music festivals
or take a refreshing dip in an open-air
swimming pool, we have a summery
selection for you. Just remember to
slap on the suncream!
