LONDON (7 September 2023) — The 100-page Japan guide, included free of charge with the October issue of National Geographic Traveller (UK), is out now.

The special highlights Japan’s fascinating layers of culture, history and tradition. It includes a 13-page focus on spiritual and wellness tourism, exploring what it’s like to stay with monks at the UNESCO-listed Koyasan temple complex, and take a nature pilgrimage with the Yamabushi mountain priests. There are also interviews with master artisans in celebration of Tohoku’s rich craft heritage, and big-hitting features exploring lesser-known corners of the archipelago such as Kyushu.
