APL Media’s Youth Internship initiative is underway
APL Media has successfully welcomed its first candidate as part of its newly launched Youth Internship programme, that focuses on empowering rising talent from underrepresented communities. The scheme offers invaluable experience within the Kentish Town-based publishing company, fostering professional growth and development.
Iman Mohammed, a final-year BA Journalism student specialising in Print & Online at the University of the Arts London, was the first intern to take part in the scheme.
Iman found her journey at APL Media to be truly transformative. “My time at APL Media has been a catalyst for my personal growth, equipping me with the confidence and skills that’ll shape my future career in journalism,” said Imam.
Iman’s previous experience includes pitching and reporting stories for Riverside Radio, crafting weekly news summaries and cultivating a network of sources. Additionally, she’s gained editorial experience at Artefact magazine, where she published a number of articles.
Iman sees the APL Media internship scheme as an instrumental springboard, propelling her into her chosen field. For more details about the Youth Internship programme, click here.
