The APL Media team take a summer adventure trip to the Eryri (Snowdonia) mountain range
APL Media took a team of 20 on a company getaway to the Snowdonia mountain for some hiking, swimming and canyoning.
The team set off from London early Friday morning, led by chief executive officer Matthew Jackson. In the afternoon, they arrived in Snowdonia, where their adventure began with a hike up Moel Siabod. A brief stop at a picturesque quarry allowed two adventurous teammates to plunge into the icy waters. The hike continued with a challenging ascent up the Daear Ddu ridge, featuring a demanding scramble up the mountain that ultimately led the team to the open hillside.
The day concluded with a meal back at the accommodation organised by the company, which offered a stunning view of the Snowdonia hills and a pint in the sunset light.
Day two was dedicated to canyoning. The team was led down a path guided by trusted experts. The day consisted of canyoning, cliff-jumping, and zip-lining through a lush green rainforest. Raindrops and sunlight created a breathtaking backdrop as the team explored. Afterwards, they visited Llanberis, a charming lakeside village at the foot of Snowdonia, where they enjoyed a delicious curry dinner and shared stories and laughter over drinks.
On the final day, the team tackled the highest peak in the range — Snowdon — at 3,559ft. The hike was majestic, with lakes and forests dotted throughout the landscape. Team morale was high, as they supported each other relentlessly to the top of the mountain, where they enjoyed a warm coffee to ward off the cold winds.
“Climbing Snowdon was an exhilarating experience that pushed us beyond our comfort zones and bonded us as a team,” said Matthew Jackson. “The challenges we faced and overcame together, from the rocky scrambles to the breathtaking summit views, were truly unforgettable. I’m immensely proud of everyone for their determination and spirit.”
The adventure wrapped up with a stroll down the mountain and then a journey back to London, concluding APL Media’s third hiking trip and second trip to Snowdonia.
