National Geographic Traveller (UK) celebrates major wins at LATA and ANTOR Media Awards 2026
APL Media has much to celebrate this week with multiple wins across some of the industry’s most respected awards.
LATA Media Awards 2026
National Geographic Traveller (UK) has been recognised for its commitment to Latin American travel journalism with two wins and a highly commended accolade at the LATA Media Awards 2026. The title received the Outstanding Contribution to Latin America award, with judges praising the breadth of its coverage and its consistent approach to sustainable travel storytelling.
The judges said of National Geographic Traveller (UK): “From richly detailed guides that leave no corner of a destination unexplored to features that find fresh angles on even the most familiar routes. Across the whole of 2025, six issues had comprehensive Latin American features including one cover story and two standalone destination supplements.
“The publication shows a consistent commitment to sustainable travel storytelling, carefully weaving responsible tourism into all their pieces, often without the reader being overly aware. The judges felt this approach embodies exactly what LATA is about.”
Long-time contributor Karolina Wiercigroch also won Best Published Latin America Photo Story for ‘How to spend the perfect day in Cartagena’, while associate editor Farida Zeynalova was highly commended in the Best Sustainability Focused Feature category for ‘Meet the Galapagueños who are trying to save paradise’.
