The shortlist for the BSME Awards 2026 has been announced and APL Media’s chief operating officer and editorial director, Maria Pieri, and National Geographic Traveller (UK)’s art director, Becky Redman, have been nominated. 

The annual British Society of Magazine Editors awards, are a highlight of the industry’s calendars. The black-tie evening will celebrate the very best of UK print and digital publishing, from trusted journalism and editorial excellence to creativity, innovation and independent voices. 

The nominations: 

• Editor-in-Chief/Editorial Director of the Year: Maria Pieri 

• Art Director of the Year – Independent: Becky Redman 

• Cover of the Year – Independent: Becky Redman, for the January 2026 issue “Japan”

The awards ceremony will be held at Rosewood London on 26 November 2026.
