National Geographic Traveller (UK) team receives 19 nominations across three awards
It’s awards season, and it seems this year’s hard work is paying off for the National Geographic Traveller (UK) team.
First up, the magazine has been shortlisted for Brand of the Year, Event of the Year and Front Cover of the Year at the PPA Independent Publisher Awards, which celebrate the contribution and entrepreneurial spirit of the UK’s independent publishing community.
Our writers have also been shortlisted for different categories in the Association of Independent Tour Operations (AITO) Awards, which reward excellence in travel writing: Amelia Duggan, Emma Gregg, Adrian Phillips and Nigel Tisdall have all been shortlisted in the Travel Writer of the Year (Over 1,500 words) category; Emma Gregg has grabbed a second nomination for the Travel Writer of the Year (Under 1,500 words) award; and Farida Zeynalova, Tamsin Wressell and Amelia Duggan have all been nominated for the Young Travel Writer of the Year prize.
Pat Riddell, editor of National Geographic Traveller (UK), and Glen Mutel, editor of National Geographic Traveller Food, have both been shortlisted in the 2019 British Society of Magazine Editors (BSME) Awards for the Editor of the Year — Travel and Editor of the Year — Food & Drink prizes. Our former art director Chris Hudson has also been nominated in the Art Director of the Year — Consumer category.
And finally, Ben Lerwill, Adrian Phillips, Emma Thomson, Aaron Millar, Emma Gregg, John Malathronas, Jonathan Thompson and Diana Jarvis have all been shortlisted in the British Guild of Travel Writers Members’ Excellence Awards.
Congratulations to everyone who’s been nominated — and fingers crossed!
