National Geographic Traveller (UK) writers continue to win prizes this award season.
First up, associate editor Nicola Trup and regular contributor Audrey Gillan won the Best Caribbean Round Up award at the Caribbean Travel Media Awards, hosted by the Caribbean Tourist Organisation (CTO) on 4 October.
Our writers were also celebrated at the Members’ Excellence Awards, presented by the British Guild of Travel Writers (BGTW) on 3 October. Freelance writer Emma Thomson won the BGTW Writer of the Year award for her features in National Geographic Traveller (UK) and The Sunday Telegraph. Other regular contributors Adrian Phillips, Emma Gregg and Ben Lerwill had all been nominated for the title. Emma also won the Best Transport Feature award with her Riding the Reunification Express piece.
Finally, Adrian Phillips won the Best Europe (non-UK) Travel Feature award for his Hungary: all along the watchtower piece, while his Sri Lanka: a whale of a time article was highly commended in the Best Short-Read Travel Feature category.
