APL Media team tackle Go Ape in a day of company bonding

APL Media took to the ropes and zip wires at Go Ape Cockfosters last month.

Staff members faced their fears by conquering the treetop course, pausing briefly at each lofty podium to enjoy leafy views over North London. Those well-versed in Go Ape trails opted for a more challenging path through the trees, stepping carefully over shifting planks, along high ropes and around treacherous obstacles.

Team members encouraged one another to make it to the finish line, tackling activities along the way including Tarzan swings to zip-lines.

Afterwards, the team enjoyed a well-earned lunch followed by garden games and drinks. The Go Ape staff were great hosts, ensuring everyone felt welcome, whether confident in their tree-traversing abilities or complete novices.

“Initially a little dubious of a work trip to Go Ape (facing my fear of heights in front of senior management sounded terrifying), I soon realised that I shouldn’t have worried at all,” said National Geographic Traveller (UK) branded content manager, Flora Neighbour. “Swinging through the trees with shouts of support was the perfect way to take time away from the office and bond with my colleagues. I even finished the course in record time! Although, the promise of a beer and a burger waiting for me at the finish line helped. A great experience!”

This marks the latest company outing for the APL Media team, having returned from a weekend of adventure in the Lake District in June.
