National Geographic Traveller (UK) and Food by National Geographic Traveller (UK) writers recognised at the BGTW Excellence Awards 2022.
Three contributing writers for National Geographic Traveller (UK) and Food by National Geographic Traveller (UK) received recognition at this year’s British Guild of Travel Writers (BGTW) Members’ Excellence Awards.
The winners were announced at the BGTW Annual Gala Awards, held on 6 November at Riverside Studios, London.
Congratulations to Jessica Vincent, who received the Bryn Frank Award for Specialist Travel Feature of the Year for her piece ‘The city of rice: Alicante’s enduring obsession with arroz’, which was published in Food by National Geographic Traveller (UK).
Further congratulations go to regular contributors Adrian Phillips and Ben Lerwill, who were highly commended in the Travel Writer of the Year category. Submissions included Adrian’s piece ‘The Coast is Clear’ in National Geographic Traveller (UK) and Ben’s feature ‘How the safari sector is bouncing back in South Africa’s north east’, also published in National Geographic Traveller (UK).
The awards were judged by over 30 travel media and industry professionals, with 10 individual prizes and four portfolio awards given out. The full shortlist, including winners, is available here.
