National Geographic Traveller (UK) wins British Travel Award to top a successful year
National Geographic Traveller (UK) has been named Best Consumer Holiday Magazine at the British Travel Awards gala dinner held at Battersea Evolution, London on 29 November.
It is the third year in four that the magazine has won the award, after successes in 2014 and 2015, and follows a number of other accolades in 2017 including Travel Writer of the Year at the British Guild of Travel Writers Awards and National Consumer Feature of the Year at the Travel Media Awards.
Editor Pat Riddell said: “We’re very excited to be recognised by our readers and the voting public alike. The magazine continues to go from strength to strength and, on top of the other accolades this year, we’re looking forward to a busy 2018 with lots on the horizon.
British Travel Awards’ chief executive Lorraine Barnes Burton added: “National Geographic Traveller is to be congratulated on winning Best Consumer Holiday Magazine. The British Travel Awards is the largest consumer voted awards programme in the world and this year 722,473 votes were cast by the travelling public to determine the winners and to win is truly an accolade and a badge of excellence.”
