The National Geographic Traveller (UK) summer issues took readers on journeys around the world: 

  • June Issue: Showcased Paris during its Olympic year with 17 outdoor activities, including sailing the Seine and exploring open-air pools. 
  • July/August Issue: Uncovered hidden gems, with wild adventures in Albania and a deep dive into Scottsdale, Arizona.

Living360 provided a fresh take on wellness, from London’s rooftop bars to the latest beauty trends, including an anti-wrinkle serum used by Kate Middleton.

Digital highlights: engaging a global audience 
Top-performing digital stories included a scenic road trip through the Bavarian Alps, Europe’s best hiking trails and an adrenaline-filled adventure in Ras Al Khaimah. These posts sparked vibrant discussions and were widely shared across social media. 

Company socials: building connections and embracing adventure 

  • Summer drinks: Our summer drinks’ events brought our community together, generating new ideas and positive feedback. 
  • Hiking trip: The APL hiking trip through Snowdonia’s stunning landscapes captured breathtaking photography and immersive stories, resonating strongly on LinkedIn. 

The National Geographic Traveller (UK) Food Festival 2024 
The highly anticipated Food Festival featured culinary stars such as: 

  • Nadiya Hussain, Matt Tebbutt, Nisha Katona, Theo Randall, Ravneet Gill, Richard Corrigan, Olia Hercules, April Jackson and Imad Alarnab

The festival’s Masterclass Theatres offered cooking demonstrations from chefs from across the globe, preparing dishes like walnut pkhali (vegetable dish from Georgia), braised tempeh and fritada (braised pork stew). Thanks to sponsors Atavi and Kenwood, the event brought food-lovers and experts together in an inspiring environment.

Exploring the world of magazine publishing: a journey at APL Media 
This summer, APL Media welcomed Kira Richards through the Travel Media Awards Step Up scheme. Kira gained experience in research, writing and editing, with her standout moment being overseeing the main stage at the National Geographic Traveller (UK) Food Festival.
